Users must read and understand this manual before using the component.
Third-party users must also be informed about the following provisions otherwise the user shall assume responsibility.
SAFETY
Incorrect use, handling, installation, maintenance or servicing of the components can lead to accidents causing severe injuries or death!
Please comply with the following provisions for optimal Performance of the components:
• Assembly and maintenance of the wheels requires a basic knowledge of handling bicycle components. If in any doubt, consult your BMC bicycle retailer and / or qualified mechanic.
• Use the wheels only for their intended use.
• Do not exceed the maximum system weight of the wheels.
• Do not exceed the maximum tire pressure indicated for the wheel and the tire.
The maximum tire size written on the rim or wheel may be larger than the maximum frame clearance. Irrespective of what maximum tire size is written on the rim or wheel, your tire size is restricted to the specification of the bicycle it is intended for.
• Do not modify the wheels.
• Check that the wheel is mounted correctly before each ride.
• Check the wheel for damage before and after each ride.
• Do not use the wheels if they are damaged or there are any signs of damage. If in any doubt, consult your BMC bicycle retailer or qualified bicycle mechanic.
DANGER
Risk of accident due to worn Tubeless Ready Tape!
If the Tubeless Ready Tape is worn, there is a risk of sudden tire pressure loss which can lead to accidents including serious injuries or even death.
• Check Tubeless Ready Tape every three months for signs of wear, or alternately, as needed, for example, if you are losing tire pressure over the course of your ride.
• Do not use the wheels if they are damaged or there are any signs of damage. If in any doubt, consult your BMC bicycle retailer or qualified bicycle mechanic.
DANGER
Danger of burns from hot brake disc!
• Allow brake rotor to cool down before working on the wheel.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the wheel by selecting incorrect components or tools!
• Do not use metal tire levers. These can damage the surface of the rim, tire, rim tape or inner tube.
• Use only valves with a suitable diameter and of an adequate length. Do not modify the rim valve hole.
• Use only rim tape, inner tubes and tires which fit the dimensions of the rim.
2. INTENDED USE
Use the wheels only in accordance with their intended use. Otherwise, the user shall assume any and all responsibility and liability resulting from, arising out of, and/or related to the misuse of the wheels.
3. ASSEMBLY
3.1 FITTING THE TIRES WITHOUT A TUBE
BMC does not offer a functional guarantee for the tubeless system since we are unable to exert any influence on the tires and sealant used.
Regularly check your tire pressure.
NOTE
Potential damage to the rim from unsuitable sealant fluid!
• BMC recommends using reputable sealant fluid, TLR valves, TLR tires and TLR rim tape.
1. Make sure that Tubeless Ready Tape and a Tubeless valve are mounted.
2. Put sealant fluid into the tires. Comply with the instructions of the sealant manufacturer.
3. Assemble the wheels according to the manufacturer's specifications.
→ We recommend using soapy water or installation fluid.
4. Pump the tires up so the tire seats evenly around the rim. Do NOT exceed maximum tire pressure!
→ This means you should apply the lower figure from the pressures specified for the rim or tire in the table at start of this user manual.
5. Check the tire seat. → The tire must contact the rim evenly around its entire circumference.
→ If in doubt, have the tire seat checked by your BMC bicycle retailer or qualified bicycle mechanic.
6. If appropriate or necessary, reduce the tire pressure to the desired operating pressure.
3.2 FITTING TIRES WITH A TUBE
1. You may also use the Tubeless Tape supplied on your wheel as rim tape.
2. Assemble the inner tube and tire according to the manufacturer's specifications.
→ We recommend using soapy water or installation fluid.
3. Pump the tires up so the tire seats evenly around the rim, do NOT exceed maximum tire pressure!
→ This means you should apply the lower figure from of the pressures specified for the rim or tire in the table at start of this user manual.
4. Check the tire seat.
→ The tire must contact the rim evenly around its entire circumference.
→ Have the tire seat checked by your BMC bicycle retailer or qualified bicycle mechanic if in any doubt.
5. If appropriate or necessary, reduce the tire pressure to the desired operating pressure.
3.3 ASSEMBLING THE CASSETTE
Assemble the cassette according to the manufacturer's specifications.
